Cristiano Ronaldo: “Marcelo is a very Lively Boy and I Miss Him”
Cristiano Ronaldo was recently awarded the Marca Leyende in Madrid where his spoke fondly about the city. Later, Spanish newspaper MARCA interviewed Ronaldo when he thanked MARCA for the opportunity.
“It’s an important trophy that only legends win, and of course it had to be Cristiano. After what I’ve done in my career, especially at Real Madrid, it’s an honour to receive it and I want to thank MARCA for giving me the opportunity to receive it here in Madrid. I’m very happy to come back here,” Ronaldo told the Spanish sports daily.
On being asked who he missed the most from Real Madrid, Marcelo was among the names that included the likes of Iker Casillas and Pepe.
“Marcelo is very happy here in Madrid, Everyone makes his life and I got along very well with him. I talk a lot with him, with Case (Casillas), with Pepe when I was, (Fabio) Coentrao, I got along very well, in general with everyone.
Marcelo is a very lively boy and I miss him,”he continued.
The five time Ballon d’Or winner also spoke about his current club legend Gianluigi Buffon and told that he was one of the best goalkeepers in the world and he, along with his former team mate, Iker Casillas, were already in the football history books.
“He hasn’t said anything about it (winning Champions League), but we’ve spoken because he’s someone I’ve admired and we’ve faced each other many times,” he said. “He told me he was happy that we are together now, and I said the same because in my opinion he’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world, if not the best. Him and Iker Casillas are in football’s history books and I’m happy to be with him because he’s a five-star man.”
The Juventus forward was also asked about who he spends his time with, in the current team to which he was very diplomatic in saying he gets along with everybody in the “good group.”
“It’s a great group, which was a surprise for me. I thought it was different but it’s a very good group who are very close and everyone gets along. Logically, it’s easier with the Portuguese and Spanish, but I get on with everyone,” Ronaldo said.
